Join us as our Children's Wellbeing Practitioner with the EmpowerU Programme!
Mind of the Student is seeking a passionate Lead Facilitator who is either qualified as a Children's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP), Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP), or equivalent to join our EmpowerU Programme. Help young people develop emotional resilience and mental health awareness in this unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by working directly with students in secondary school settings.
Location: Southcourt Family Centre Plus, Oxford Rd, Aylesbury HP21 8PD
Hours: 4 hours/week for 6 weeks (plus 1 week of training)
Start Date: 18th February 2025
About EmpowerU
EmpowerU is a six-week programme designed to teach evidence-based mental health strategies and foster peer support among young people. Each week includes a two-hour group session for students aged 11–13, plus two hours of clinical time, totaling four hours per week.
What You’ll Do
1. Facilitate weekly group sessions focused on improving emotional well-being.
2. Deliver therapeutic, evidence-based support to participants.
3. Participate in one week of preparatory training.
4. Collaborate with the Mind of the Student team to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
Requirements
We’re looking for candidates who are:
1. Qualified and registered as a Children and Young People Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) or an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP), with experience in CYP mental health services.
2. Experienced in delivering low-intensity, evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
3. Educated to at least Level 6 in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
4. Knowledgeable about safeguarding policies and procedures.
5. Passionate about supporting young people, with strong engagement skills.
