Job Description We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Surfacing and Groundwork Labourer to join our reputable surfacing company based in Bournemouth, Dorset. The ideal candidate will assist in a variety of tasks related to the preparation and surfacing of various construction sites. This role is integral to delivering high-quality groundwork and surfacing services to our clients and requires dedication, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and excellence. Hours: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4pm Occasional Saturdays. Location: Bournemouth, Dorset Employment Type: Full-Time - Permanent Salary: Starting at £13 to £13.50 per hour depending on experience. Progression opportunities with reviews after 6 months. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in preparing work sites, including clearing and grading surfaces, compacting soil, and ensuring proper drainage. • Lay and level asphalt, concrete, and other surfacing materials under the guidance of skilled supervisors. • Support the installation of kerbs, paving, and other groundwork structures. • Operate and maintain small plant machinery and tools as required (e.g., compactors, mixers). • Follow health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. • Load and unload materials and equipment from delivery vehicles. • Assist in the setup and breakdown of work sites, including traffic management and signage as necessary. • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and to the highest quality standard. Requirements: • Previous experience in groundwork, street works, surfacing, or a related construction field is preferred. • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, with the ability to learn and operate new equipment. • Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. • A positive work ethic and willingness to take instruction and learn from experienced team members. • CSCS card is advantageous but not essential. • Full UK clean UK driving licence required to use company vehicles.
