About the Centre This vocational training centre focuses on equipping secondary students with hands-on skills in hair and beauty and construction. Their mission is to prepare students for the next step in their educational journey, ensuring they gain the qualifications and confidence needed to transition to college and beyond. The Role As an HLTA, you’ll have a dynamic role that blends pastoral care and classroom support to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives. Your week will be split between: Two days focused on pastoral care and intervention, providing emotional and academic support. Three days supporting teachers during vocational lessons. Your responsibilities will include: Providing one-on-one and group support to students, helping them overcome challenges. Implementing strategies to re-engage students who have faced difficulties in mainstream education. Assisting teachers in delivering practical lessons in hair and beauty, and construction. Encouraging students to develop the skills they need for future education and careers. Collaborating with staff to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment. About You The ideal candidate will be committed, reliable, and ready to inspire students. You’ll bring: Experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those who have faced barriers in mainstream education. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues. The confidence to manage and support students in both classroom and vocational settings. A compassionate and patient approach to helping students reach their full potential. Flexibility to adapt to the varied nature of the role.
