We currently have a position for an Import Clerk with current in-time perishables airfreight experience. You must be capable of doing a large volume of entries from start (pre-alerts) to completion (invoicing). Duties and responsibilities inter alia include:
1. Liaise with overseas offices, partners and agents
2. Accurately compile import and export documents (entries, IPAFFs, PEACH)
3. Experienced in dealing with PEACH applications
4. Highly experienced in the completion of full C88 Customs declarations and all that entails (classification, valuation, customs procedures and CPC Codes, knowledge of Duty and VAT etc)
5. Highly familiar in dealing with the various HMRC, DEFRA and Port Health functions
6. To accurately maintain all records relating to imports and exports
7. Be proactive and able to resolve any issues or discrepancies
8. Adhere to security procedures at all times, know and work within the company directive at all times
9. Liaise with HMRC, Port & Plant Health and other government bodies
10. Organise import clearances, and the correct documentation relating to the movement of cargo
11. Provide a high level of customer service
12. Strong Administration skills
13. To sort, filter and distribute documentation, and create and maintain job files in an accurate and timely manner
14. Retrieval of documents from airlines
15. Dealing with any DUTY reclaims
16. Invoicing and charging files
17. Collection and lodging of documents with carriers, Port Health etc - a drivers license thus a must
SKILLS
1. Ideally be experienced in using MultiFreight/Descartes E-customs but not essential
2. Logistics experience preferred specifically relating to EU truck movements

14. MUST have a valid drivers license as the lodging and collection of documents is a standard duty
The position is on a standard shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off, 09:00 - 21:00. Where overtime is to be worked the successful candidate may be required to cover hours and shifts over the 12:00-00:00 period.
Suitable applicants will be required to pass a 5 year DBS / CRC check. Covering overtime as and when necessary is a requirement. Salary cGBP26k-GBP27k depending on relevant experience.
