Hartlepool Borough Council is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse to work within our 0-19 service, predominantly with our Health Visitors delivering the Health Child Programme and Public Health agenda.
Main duties of the job
As a Public Health Staff Nurse, you will support the day-to-day role of the Health Visitors delivering a family-centred Public Health approach, working with babies, children, families, and carers to improve health and tackle inequalities, promoting the best start for life.
You will work in the community supporting families in their own homes, Family Hubs, community, and education settings. Your role will include delivering health promotion, universal, and targeted interventions to individuals and groups as part of the 0-19 Early Help Team.

As part of the role, there is the option to train as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in the future (conditions apply).
Job responsibilities
1. To work as part of an integrated locality early help team providing an effective high-quality service to the local population ages 0-11 and their families.
2. To be a member of a Health Visiting Team and undertake duties as delegated by the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
3. To provide a service which includes health surveillance, health promotion, support, and advice, primarily to families with children under 6 years of age as part of the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.
4. To work as part of the wider community nursing and primary healthcare 0-19 team, liaising and working with other statutory and voluntary agencies as appropriate.
5. This post will prepare the staff nurse to undertake training in the future if they wish, to qualify as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
