Design Engineer, Ferndown, £50,000 Purpose As a Design Engineer, you will oversee the design and delivery of technically challenging projects from initial concept to final production. Your focus will be on ensuring designs meet performance, cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Tackling technical challenges like back-pressure, acoustics, and vibration issues. Leading new product development projects from concept to production. Troubleshooting technical problems at customer sites. Creating designs, BOMs, and drawings that meet quality and cost goals. Supporting quality improvement initiatives like root cause analysis. Communicating with stakeholders, suppliers, and customers, including site visits. Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company policies. As a Design Engineer, you will have: Experience in mechanical design, including pipework and sheet metal. Familiarity with composites and rubber manufacturing is a plus. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, like Inventor, and in Excel. Ideally have knowledge of FMEA, stage-gate processes, and continuous improvement.
