About the Role
We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer limited paid placement opportunities for 3rd year Trainee Psychologists who specialise in Counselling (or in a relevant discipline but have the ability to effectively deliver counselling interventions).
Due to increasing client demand for counselling interventions, SAMH have been able to arrange limited paid placement opportunity for experienced 3rd year trainees to join the Time for You team as a staff member. In this role, you will be working on a basis with individuals who refer into the service, through offering a range of therapeutic interventions. Although not limited to CBT and trauma focused interventions, it is important that you are able to deliver such interventions should this be most appropriate to the client.
Within this placement, you will be expected to commit to specific days and hours per week as agreed between yourself and the Service Manager/Team Leader and, although remotely based, you will be expected to be an active participant in the Time for You team beyond fulfilling your placement requirements - including meetings, training, project work and service operations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to get hands on experience of working in a psychological wellbeing team in a mental health organisation as a core part of the team. Our aim will also be to support you to achieve as many of your online client hours as possible during your placement with us, within the limits and boundaries of client demand into the service.
This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to make a difference to peoples’ lives and support them to achieve their identified outcomes. In addition to experience in delivering psychological interventions, you will be able to demonstrate good communication skills, reliability and a mature attitude together with adaptability and enthusiasm. Knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems is essential.
Please note: You will be required to arrange your own supervision in line with regulatory requirements.
What we will provide for you
You will work in a supportive environment and will be provided with a full induction and training opportunities. You will be given the chance to develop your knowledge and skills, as well as develop professionally. Some of our benefits include;
