We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee and lead a new-build residential project in Oxford. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable construction firm.
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for all on-site activities, ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This is a hands-on role for a candidate with experience in managing large-scale construction projects, specifically within the residential sector. You'll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure a smooth and effective construction process from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee daily on-site operations, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and health & safety standards.
2. Manage and coordinate all site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring quality standards are met at every stage of the build.
3. Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and proactively implement solutions to mitigate delays or risks.
4. Conduct regular site meetings with the project team and contractors to communicate expectations and project goals.
5. Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and company policies, particularly in relation to health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
6. Prepare and maintain site records, including daily logs, reports, and timesheets.
7. Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and design teams to resolve any design or technical issues.
8. Manage and control site costs in line with the project budget.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Site Manager on new-build projects, ideally within the residential sector.
2. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
3. Relevant construction qualifications, such as NVQ Level 6/7 in Construction Management.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of construction regulations, health & safety standards, and quality control measures.
5. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams effectively.
6. Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
7. Familiarity with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Valid CSCS card.
9. NHBC Award.
