Job overview
We are seeking a Designated Professional with experience of working in Safeguarding Adults and Children, who is enthusiastic about joining a Safeguarding Team transitioning to an All Age model. Adult safeguarding is the primary focus for this role.
The role requires Clinician and/or Allied Health Professional experience that includes operational, management, and leadership in Safeguarding.
The post holder is required to work in collaboration with multi-agency, multidisciplinary teams, and will work with partner agencies, health providers, and VCFSE at a system level.
Main duties of the job
* The role holder will lead on adult safeguarding with the AD for adult Safeguarding, providing clinical expertise, specialist knowledge, support, and supervision on adult safeguarding and associated issues, including domestic abuse, Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Prevent, and Modern Slavery.
* The role holder will be responsible for the provision of training and support to clinical staff within primary care to embed adult safeguarding practice.
* Responsibility includes providing an effective, credible, and expert level of clinical support to the Assistant Director Adult Safeguarding ensuring that robust mechanisms are in place to demonstrate that all aspects of adult safeguarding are applied within provider organisations.
* Work in partnership across HWE ICB with the safeguarding children team to achieve a ‘Think Family’ approach, including a smooth transition from child to adulthood for young people in care/care leavers.
* Collaborate with multi-agency teams on a strategic and operational level to protect adults at risk and achieve safe and healthy outcomes.
* Provide assurance to HWE ICB that Providers are robust in safeguarding adults practice.
* Contribute to quality improvement, continuous improvement, and patient safety as relevant to the role.

Qualifications
* Educated to master's level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior clinical/AHP level in safeguarding adults.
* Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development.
* Member of relevant professional body.
Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post-graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master’s level equivalent.
* Good presentational skills for conveying complex concepts.
* Ability to use informed persuasion to influence others.
* Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues, create solutions, and resolve problems in relation to project or service delivery.
* Evidence of planning and delivering programmes and projects and services on time.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate keyboard skills.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties, and as such, this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020.
