As an Area Manager for Eville & Jones, you will be responsible for the service delivery within the South Wales area by providing leadership and management of Lead Official Veterinarians/Technical Managers/Operations Manager to ensure the efficient and consistent delivery of Eville & Jones Corporate Objectives and to ensure the delivery of E&J contractual requirements to all customers.
We are looking for an individual with a ‘can do’ attitude who will roll their sleeves up to support the delivery of services to a variety of customers. Someone that has an eye for process improvement who can take a step back and see where improvements can be made and influence the delivery of those improvements.
This role, therefore, requires a strong professional with experience in management. The person who will fit with us will be down to earth, resilient, delivery-focused, fast-paced with an ability to work autonomously to drive change forward and balance the ongoing demand for delivery of quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organise work rotas and allocate staff to meet customer requirements through the effective supervision of the Operations Manager.
2. Ensure staff visits are conducted as agreed with the Regional Director.
3. Manage performance and conduct annual appraisals for Team Leader OVs.
4. Review enforcement actions and technical reports with the Technical Manager.
5. Address performance issues and manage appraisals for Team Leader OVs.
6. Liaise with the People Partner on staff changes and disciplinary issues.
7. Monitor financial performance and address budget shortfalls.
8. Ensure health & safety standards are met and risk assessments are completed.
9. Adhere to Quality Systems and Standards.
10. Maintain relationships with stakeholders and meet with local customer representatives.
11. Collate information for FSA monthly reports.
12. Report activities to the Regional Director.
13. Arrange team meetings and social events.
14. Perform other duties as required by the Regional Director.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Demonstrated experience in management and process enhancement.
2. A degree in Veterinary Medicine, preferably with MRCVS certification.
3. Desirable experience as an FSA Official Veterinarian and/or Export Official Veterinarian.
4. Strong communication abilities.
5. Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
6. Resilience and persistence in overcoming challenges.
7. Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented.
8. A strong drive to achieve and deliver outstanding results.
9. Proficient negotiation skills.
10. Competency in computer skills and familiarity with office software packages.
