To provide an exemplary private patient-focused service to support patients in booking their private healthcare appointments and day case surgery, to ensure planned admissions are managed effectively and efficiently. The post holder will be required to work independently using initiative and apply a high degree of confidentiality to all of their work. Principle Duties 1. Communication/Customer Service and Team Working Excellent verbal communication skills, using tact, discretion, empathy, andsensitivity to private patients. Communicate with staff, private patients, and relatives at all levels in anappropriate manner, both in person and on the telephone, ensuring they receivea responsive and supportive service at all times. Provide a complete administrative service to the Private Patient department. To present a positive image by always being welcoming and maintaining aprofessional attitude. 2. Planning and Organising Prioritise telephone calls and email enquiries and action as necessary. Ensure all private patient notes are prepped and distributed to relevantdepartments in a timely manner. Co-ordinate private patient appointments and admissions with consultants,medical secretaries, and departmental teams. To organise tests and pre-operative assessments. To maintain a record of allprivate patients appointments and admissions. To work with the Business Development Manager to develop processes torefine the private patient service. To prioritise and organise own workload to meet the needs of the private patientservice. 3. Administration Store confidential information onto relevant computer systems Open and action post as required To liaise with the Trusts Finance Lead regarding package prices for PrivatePatient procedures. To send quotations to private patients in a timely manner. To take payments from private patients wishing to pay for private healthcareservices, over the telephone or in person. To ensure an efficient private patient notes filing system is maintained. To provide the Business Development Manager with information regarding keytrends and conversion from outpatient to theatre.
