If you answered yes, then this role could be the perfect fit for you The Opportunity We are looking for a Lead Consultant to join our Consultancy Services Division, providing expert guidance on a wide range of projects within radioactive waste management, decommissioning, and environmental restoration. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative solutions that support environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance. Your duties and responsibilities will be Business Development & Project Management Identify and develop client business opportunities within consultancy services. Manage bid proposals up to £25K, including resource planning, scheduling, and pricing. Oversee cost reimbursable projects up to £50K and fixed price projects up to £25K, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Lead project teams and sub-contractors to ensure contract requirements are met. Support business development teams in generating internal and external consultancy work. Maintain accountability for project budgets, timescales, and deliverables. Technical Expertise & Delivery Provide technical consultancy for decommissioning, waste management, and environmental remediation. Develop expertise in technical areas related to these fields. Produce high-quality technical documentation, including Best Available Technique assessments, waste characterisation reports, and compliance submissions. Deliver technical studies and laboratory trials to support radioactive waste management and environmental restoration. Draft procedural and guidance documents such as risk assessments and work instructions. Peer review deliverables within areas of expertise to maintain high-quality standards. Liaison & Collaboration Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal teams. Actively contribute to meetings, workshops, and technical discussions, both internally and externally. Facilitate and provide secretariat support for meetings and workshops in areas of expertise. Present technical papers and reports to committees and industry stakeholders.You will have the following qualifications and experience Recognised professional qualifications (e.g., BSc/MSc/PhD) in a relevant field. Recognised expertise in decommissioning, waste management, or environmental restoration Proven ability to author high-quality technical reports and procedural documents. Familiarity with QSHEW operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
