Health, Safety and Facilities Coordinator | Littlehampton
The Opportunity:
A leading rubber fabrication manufacturer requires a proactive Health and Safety Coordinator to take the lead on driving best H&S practices across a busy manufacturing site.
Gaining exposure inside the Rail/H&S industry, you will become an invaluable member of the team, supported to study future H&S qualifications by this Rail market leader.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for compliance to HSE Standards, Certificates and legal obligations and corporate and other requirements by creating, implementing, applying/enforcing and continually improving company policies and procedures.
2. Responsible for ensuring HSE policies, procedures and practices support the achievement of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and other business targets.
3. Ensure accidents, incidents and near-misses are investigated appropriately to determine root causes are identified and implement corrective actions.
4. Managing all internal and external audit requirements, ensuring compliance and success.
5. Be hands on and involved with customer and supplier visits as and when required. Develop positive working relationships with customers and suppliers to facilitate achievement of site objectives and positive customer satisfaction.
The Candidate:
1. Previous experience in a similar role in H&S, ideally within a Manufacturing environment.
2. Comfortable being 'hands on' - i.e. getting 'out and about' on the shop floor, engaging with the workforce.
3. NEBOSH/IOSH qualifications would be advantageous (or qualified by experience).
4. Confident with IT systems/ Microsoft. (Previous experience using Sage would be advantageous).
