We are searching for our future Hermes GB Retail Merchandising Manager on Leather, Hard Luxury and Lifestyle Metiers Pivotal to the success of our subsidiary, the successful candidate will be driving the Product Merchandising strategy for the subsidiary on Non-Fashion Metiers in partnership with our Store & Ecommerce Directors. We are looking for an experienced manager with a track record in setting and delivering high ambitions for Luxury Product Offerings and in fostering collaboration across teams. Leading a team of two Senior Merchandisers and one Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the business for the subsidiary on Leather goods, Fine Jewellery & Watches, Internet of Things, Maison, Tableware, Saint Louis, Puiforcat, Perfumes & Beauty, Equestrian and Horizons. The objective of the Retail Merchandising department is to enhance our client experience by building with Stores and Ecommerce a desirable product offering that is singular for each store, whilst ensuring sustainable growth. This is enabled by a close collaboration with Demand & Supply Planning, Visual Merchandising, Training, Client Experience and Communications teams as well as teams located at Headquarters in Paris. Key Responsibilities This position reports directly to the Retail Merchandising Director as part of the Retail Merchandising Team of Hermès GB based at Head Office. 1. Market and Métier knowledge Understand and share knowledge broadly within the subsidiary on the industry (collections, pricing, client experience, etc.) Build 3 year strategy to define Metier priorities along with other departments Build and communicate yearly operational plan to animate Metier performance (launch and events calendar, training priorities, etc.) Monitor sales performance through both quantitative analyses and qualitative feedbacks Undertake detailed analyses to understand business opportunities and risks Define short term action plans in close collaboration with Retail, Training, Customer Service, Metiers and Europe Region to achieve ambitions Regular store visits and time spent instore Work closely with Retail Merchandising Director to update sales forecasts and flag any risk on a rolling basic 2. OTB and Buying management Collaborate to the definition of OTB for stores in line within the strategy of the subsidiary and Europe and with the stock objectives set for the current year Monitor and control reorders in line with budgeted stock levels, voicing the needs of the subsidiary with Metier and European teams Propose a buying strategy and support physical stores in their freedom of buying to ensure a unique but coherent offer that will answer to their customers' needs and enhance the store identities, with a good balance between novelties and bestsellers (assortments, PSI, novelties) Place orders for the Ecommerce local platform, taking into account store offerings, with an omnichannel approach Continue to develop easy to use tools for Podium, Preview, Reorder and Push offers with control on delivery to come, level of stock and sales Update PSI and assortments when needed, proposing adjustments based on sales per store and Retail / Warehouse constraints Collaborate with the Demand and Supply Planner to define stock management on Reorder metiers within the subsidiary 3. Product animation Check delivery/availability for launching of new products in all stores with the Demand and Supply Planner and collaborate with Training team, Visual Merchandiser, Ecommerce and Communications to ensure successful launches Work closely with Visual Merchandiser / E-VM to optimise products visibility and ensure products are given the right level of exposure in stores' display and in our windows Contribute to the definition of 360 animation plan with the Retail, Training, Ecommerce and Communications teams to provide focus (and fun) for sales teams, and increase sales on targeted Métiers Optimise every opportunity to move stock throughout the business reducing the financial impact of depreciating goods 4. Métiers & Europe Community partnership Be an active player of the community of Merchandising Managers in Europe Share, implement and adapt Europe strategy within your subsidiary and share all best practices from the UK Use the tools implemented by the European team and adapt them if necessary to benefit the stores Create synergies with the European team by relying on them for reporting and analytical support - avoid duplication and improve efficiency Work closely with the Métiers to implement their strategy locally and achieve growth ambitions Be the key liaison between the Stores and Métiers: share feedback and key information, transparency and effective communication with stores is essential Coordinate regular market visits with Métiers, in close collaboration with the Retail Director Competencies This ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Retail Merchandising or Planning experience within a retail environment - you will be familiar with the concept of the "freedom of buying" and be able to influence and guide Senior Leaders in a strategic yet mindful way.
