Our Client is one of the leading Infrastructure organisations in the UK and is building one of the largest projects in Europe.
This project involves huge complexity and an enormous environmental aspect that is vital to its success.
We are looking for an Environmental Manager with extensive experience in large complex projects. The critical aspect of this role is to lead and manage contractors and consultancies with knowledge, influence, and integrity.
Qualifications:
1. Chartered Environmentalist or Chartered in an Engineering field.
2. Good experience with Environmental and NEC3 contracts.
3. Knowledge of applicable UK environmental law and relevant construction regulations, including Construction Design Management (CDM).
4. Understanding of the Regulatory/Legislative Framework.
5. Commercial awareness, including understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets, and the need to deliver an integrated solution that meets all functional requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Overall accountability for leading environmental technical assurance in the Integrated Project Team by producing, checking, and submitting assurance evidence for technical stage gates.
2. Ensuring that the design and construction of the assets comply with technical and sponsor requirements, environmental commitments, and regulations.
3. Supporting the Head of Engineering and Environment in organising, coordinating, and undertaking the environmental element of the risk-based technical assurance of the works performed by the Integrated Project Team (IPT).
This role is based 3 days a week from any office in London, Bicester, Milton Keynes, or Birmingham.
