As Field Connections Lead you will be responsible for supporting the connections delivery, a pivotal role within the business. The business is scaling at pace, you will ensure the day-to-day connection targets are met. The role is responsible for successful delivery of all planned connections, whilst ensuring capable resources are available for the forecast connection visible in the future pipeline. The Lead will ensure that contractors delivering connections do so on time, to budget, to the agreed quality standards and in accordance with all safety requirements. You will be responsible for the Southern Region which will involve working in the field, office and remotely.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the day to day delivery of surveys and connections:
1. Timeliness of on the day delivery
2. Quality of works undertaken
3. Customer satisfaction of engineer (contractor) visit
4. Ensuring on the day appointments are met
2. Working with the Field Connections team to ensure that connections are managed to budget and that incremental costs from 3rd party contractors are managed appropriately. Agreeing on the day delivery changes to include:
1. Variation in delivery method
2. Approving delivery cost changes in accordance with their approval level
3. Approving and processing contractor quotes that are not on the fixed price
3. Ensuring on the day resources are available for all activities.
4. Ensuring the following days resources are aligned and available to meet customer appointment requirements
5. To deal with on the day escalations making appropriate actions to ensure escalation recovery
6. Liaise with the Provisioning Team ensuring smooth on the day delivery keeping all stakeholders informed of progress, particularly if potential delay occurs
7. General day-2-day communication with contractors assigned to surveys and connections
8. Advise the field teams appropriately reviewing surveys with issues to ensure connection delivery can be met
9. To act as a technical process expert, advising and coaching Technicians in the Field, ensuring all activities are completed to our company specification and that the integrity of the network is maintained
10. Ensuring that appropriate risk assessments / method statements are in place and that all customer connection engineers are trained and aware of responsibilities
11. Day to day Liaison with local authorities highways & street work teams as required
12. Ordering and supply of stock / materials as required
Experience:
1. Professional Qualification (degree or significant industry experience)
2. 2-3 years experience within a similar role where you managed contractors
3. Telecoms Supervisory Experience
4. Intermediate in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point)
5. OSP Telecoms Network Build
6. Fibre Optics Splicing & OTDR testing
7. Blown & traditional cable installation
8. Valid Streetworks Supervisor Certification
9. Full driving licence
10. Fibre Optic/Fibre Installation Certification (Desirable)
11. CSCS Construction Site Supervisor Card (Desirable)
12. Openreach PIA Accreditation
13. Good facilitation skills - able to run workshops and external project meetings
