Birmingham City Council Rent Service is responsible for the collection of housing rents and former tenancy debts as a Social landlord. We are committed to providing high-quality services to tenants and have significant responsibilities for income collection to the Housing Revenue Account.
We are looking for a determined individual who can demonstrate a strong track record of effective delivery focused outcomes and managing operational performance. The candidate should be able to plan and organise operational resources to meet demand across all service channels (telephone, visits, online/digital) in a transparent and effective manner that meets the needs of tenants.
The successful candidate will identify effective ways of working within the Rent Service, meet the standards and requirements of our Local Authority tenants, and make a positive contribution to the Rent Service by taking a lead role in the development and implementation of policies and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement in service delivery.
You must have significant experience in income collection within a housing environment, ensuring the promotion of financial and digital inclusion and benefit take-up to maximise income and reduce management costs within the HRA and wider Council.
You will be expected to assist and work with other income managers and functional teams, interpreting changes to legislation and City Council policies, ensuring that working practices and procedures are amended as appropriate, and implementing those changes to meet the demands of the service.
