Job summary
To form an integral part of the front of house and administrative team, contributing to the daily office routine within General Practice. The role shall include various administrative tasks, reception duties and dealing with telephone enquiries.
Main duties of the job
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the Administrator Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement tocarry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload andstaffing levels:
Undertakereception duties when required following protocols and procedures
Greetall patients and visitors in a courteous and polite manner, offering allreasonable assistance
Handlingand processing of prescriptions, ensure all prescription requests are processedand are ready for collection within 3 working days
Bookappointments by telephone and face to face
Receiveand make calls as required. Divert calls to relevant team and deal with generalenquiries and appointment line
UndertakeAdministrative duties - completing of tasks both in EMIS Web and DOCMAN
Registeringof new patients
Scanningand filing of incoming documents and post
Dealwith email queries following protocols and procedures.
Undertakinga range of administrative duties supporting colleagues in the wider team at VMCwhich includes:
-ClinicalCoding and summarising of clinical records
-Deductions
-Incomingand sending of medical notes
-Immunisationsand child health management including monitoring of Antenatal workload andchildhood vaccination
-Redactionsof records
-Dermatologymanagement
