As an EMC Engineer, you will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive EMC testing service to a wide range of industry sectors. You will take ownership of the set up and completion of EMC test projects and the accurate delivery of results to customers.
Please note: This role will be based on a late shift circa 4:00pm – 1:00am, Monday to Friday evenings.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Work closely with customers, Engineers and Project Managers to provide EMC testing in both screened enclosure and in-situ environments
* Maintain data and electronic logbooks for testing
* Test procedure generation including provision of photos and measurement uncertainty calculations.
* Develop test plans (where required) and generate test reports.
* Contribute to test equipment / method development and evaluation.
* Support the validation of clients’ requirements (which may require site visits).
* Offer assistance to the sales team with the provision of technical information to enable quote generation.
* Develop as specialist in a specific area of testing i.e. rail, marine, radio EMC requirements, etc.
* Provision of training to engineers regarding specialist area.

Essential Criteria:
* An HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
* Proven experience in an engineering environment with a bias towards electrical EMC and/or RF.
* Self driven with a clear focus on high quality.
* Ability to address testing in parallel with reporting.
* Comfortable dealing with customers at all levels.
* Sound written communication skills.
* Good commercial awareness.
* Flexibility and willingness to work offsite or conduct shift work, where required.
* Familiar with use of MS Office suite of tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Desirable Criteria:
* Working knowledge of EMC testing requirements
* Working knowledge of EMC specification and accreditation requirements
* Full licence and own vehicle to support travel to the Bearley site.
