Finance Manager
Portishead, hybrid remote, 50:50 split
Part-time, 18 hours per week, flexibility available
£16 - £19 per hour + free parking + company pension scheme + 25 days’ holiday (pro-rata) + bank holidays
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven Finance Manager to join a well-established and growth-orientated organisation.
Our client is a not-for-profit financial institution, whose goal is to give back to the local community by providing ethical finance to those in need. Established for over 20 years, they serve people who live in the Southwest of England.
They’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager with experience managing the finances of an SME organisation and who is a fully qualified accountant to take over from This role will involve all aspects of financial management, including managing the ledgers, journal entries, quarterly & monthly accounts, forecasting, bank recs, etc…, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make an impact on an ethical not-for-profit organisation.

The role
Day-to-day responsibilities
* Bank reconciliations
* Managing the nominal ledger and journal entries
* Producing the end of month and end of year accounts
* Producing strategic budgets and forecasts
* Manage the outsourced payroll system
* Overseeing health & safety to make sure that the office complies with health & safety regulations
* Managing the organisation’s various insurances
* Liaising with external auditors at year end

The Person
Essential
* Must be a fully qualified accountant, minimum AAT level 4 or equivalent
* A solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping
* Knowledge & understanding of budgeting & costing etc…
* Strong ability to do bank reconciliations, ledgers, double entry bookkeeping, etc…
Desirable
* Accounting in a non-manufacturing/product organisation
Nice-to-have
* Degree in accounting, finance, or similar field
* Financial services experience
* Not-for-profit experience
