Description Role: Young Persons Practitioner Salary: £26,700 per annum (pro-rata) plus £700 on call allowance Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands Contract/Hours: Fixed Term Contract until 31 st December 2026 – Part-time – 25 hours a week We would expect a degree of flexibility around working hours to meet the demands of the service and service users, including occasional weekend or early evening work. A bit about the role Guernsey Youth Housing offers a general support service to assist young people, between the ages of 13- 25. In the role of Young Persons Practitioner, you'll be providing an intensive support service for children, young people, and families by agreeing and providing interventions, which help to promote independence and skills for living We provide a welcoming and accessible service that respects and values young people as individuals we are professional, non-judgemental, and confidential encouraging young people to make informed healthy decisions. How you'll help to create brighter futures By Providing a high-quality service to children, young people, and their families. Delivering interventions to children, young people, or families on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting By Maintaining effective working relationships and channels of communications with colleagues and with children, young people, and families Attending and actively participating in relevant multi-agency meetings By being responsible for organising achievement of work objectives daily Let's talk about you In the role of Young Persons Practitioner, we're ideally looking for someone who has: Ability to manage demanding workloads and change priorities quickly Experience of delivering emotional wellbeing interventions to children and young people. A good understanding of and experience of applying safeguarding procedures Experience of delivering training and group work with young people Experience of delivering outcome-based programmes or initiatives, completing assessments, planning and reviews to ensure positive outcomes.
