As a Maths Tutor, your main responsibility will be to support and educate prisoners in various mathematical concepts and skills, helping them build a strong foundation in mathematics and achieve their educational goals.

Main Responsibilities
* Teach learners to improve their basic education levels up to Level 2.
* Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activities and appropriate courses.
* Challenge negative behaviour and boost self-esteem through role modelling.
* Enhance prisoners' employability and support their rehabilitation to reduce reoffending.
* Deliver accredited and non-accredited courses in Functional Skills English and Maths.
* Identify the needs of individuals in classes and groups, and develop differentiated teaching methods and resources to address those needs.

* Monitor the uptake of courses and employ strategies to maximise attendance.
* Attend team meetings to evaluate progress, share good practice, and participate in staff meetings, providing feedback on classes and suggestions for improving teaching practice and the Department overall.
* Track learner attendance, achievement, and progression, reporting any issues to the Line Manager.

The Ideal Candidate
* Full teaching qualification (minimum of CTLLS) or PGCE, or working towards one.
* Experience delivering Functional Skills in a classroom setting.
* Recognised Level 3 qualification or higher in a relevant subject, along with professional experience.
* An interest in the rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders.
* Strong ability to communicate effectively through various mediums, including spoken and written communication.
* Awareness of equal opportunities and a commitment to recognising diversity and inclusion.
* Experience in instructing or supporting individuals with challenging behaviour.
* An Assessor or IV qualification is desirable.
* Experience working in a prison environment
Package Description
salary up to £38,362.27 per annum plus LW.
Working Hours 37.50 hours (Regular Monday – Friday pattern)
