Fuggles Beer Cafe was created in 2013, we’re a small, independent company still learning on our own journey and we want to take the right people along with us as we grow over the future years. Since our inception we’ve won various awards and commendations, we’re really proud of our achievements so far. We take a lot of pride in what we do and are looking for people with high standards and competency - but most of all, people who just love what we are about and what we do.
Our focus is on selling some of the best beers from the UK & Europe alongside a great range of Gin, Whisky & Spirits. Our wine list focusses on a great range from classic styles through to natural wines. All of this comes with our food offering of Hot Dogs, Cheese & Charcuterie and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches.
As part of your role you'll get to taste and experience amazing Beers, Gins & Whiskies and we also offer various industry training programmes, such as Cicerone qualifications, trips, brewery/distillery visits and brewdays, supplier visits and much more including First Aid training & Health & Safety courses, management apprenticeships and more.*
In return we offer competitive rates of pay, reasonable working hours and the opportunity for people to learn, develop and progress with us. We love what we do and we’re keen to work with people who also love what we do just as much! Company discounts on food & drink too come with the package. We also offer a bonus scheme linked directly to sales and performance with the ability to earn over 10% bonus.*
We're looking for enthusiastic and energetic managers to support & lead our teams in the day to day running of our pub. As we focus on beer, wine, gin and whisky a fondness for these is definitely a plus! We believe in working hard and delivering great products and service. In return we always look to reward and engage with those in our team that help us achieve our goal to be one of the best drinking establishments in the country.
Basics of the role will include, but not limited to:
Everything we expect of our team plus occasional food service and handling of meats, cheeses and other items on our menu; supporting your team in their day to day roles & helping to develop the team around you. There will also be aspects of maintaining health & safety/fire/food safety standards in line with our legal requirements; weekly management reporting; scheduling; opening and closing the pubs, including cashing up; bar work and service; recruitment; ordering; cellar management; in-house events; staff training and motivation; drinking tasty drinks, eating tasty food and being passionate about it in the process!
The successful applicant will ideally have a background in hospitality, with ideally at least 12 months experience at management level - although this isn't essential - if you've managed teams and been in customer facing roles (or just have an affinity with what we do) we'd still love to hear from you. Experience or an understanding of the world of Craft Beer, Gin & Whisky is ideally required. The ideal candidate will also have experience of cellar work. You should have the ability to lead a team, support your managers and staff & deliver a top customer experience.
Opportunities to progress for the right people are always possible, we're always on the lookout for passionate people we can develop. Final wage/salary dependant on experience and skillset.
We look forward to hearing from you!
