Job Description:
My client has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join their team based at their Cleveland office working on education and health projects. My client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor who delivers projects across a range of sectors including health, education, highways, justice, defence, aviation, water, and environment.
Reporting into the Project Director, my client is looking for someone who can lead and manage a project team, ensure they are fully resourced, and deliver safely on time and within budget to high-quality client specifications. The project includes a Medical Centre, GP’s facility, Dental Centre, Primary Community Rehab Facility, Occupational Health, and Community Mental Health centre.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the company IPCD.
* Ensure the safe and efficient execution of the project in line with company IPCD.
* Manage resources on the project on a day-to-day basis and report any staff issues as appropriate.
* Manage project commercial issues and cost reporting (WIP).
* Identify client requirements and ensure delivery to client satisfaction.
* Represent the company on any internal or external issues.
* Prepare detailed plans and procedures to administer the project and ensure project team familiarity.
* Manage all project reporting in a timely manner.
* Regularly audit the project to ensure compliance.
* Communicate with the project team regularly on project-specific matters and company initiatives.
* Manage project cash flow positively throughout the project's life.
* Manage procurement and achieve best value for Engineering Services.
* Identify all risks and manage actions to mitigate such risks.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience managing a project team to reach completion within budget and on schedule.
* Programme production and management.
* Ability to interpret the requirements of specifications.
* Resolve technical queries during the contract.
* Experience managing procurement, labor, and subcontractors.
* Assisting in preparing monthly applications.
* Construction management and liaising with the supervision team.
* Site operations – installation and commissioning.
* Maintain good working relationships with clients and the professional team.
* Stakeholder engagement and management.
* Control contract costs and variations.
* Value engineering projects to create cost savings.
* Coordinating M&E Services installations.
* Comply with all health and safety requirements, including compiling method statements and risk assessments.
* Compile and present Operating & Maintenance Manuals.
* Experience with contract values ranging from £2m and above.
* Degree: BEng (Hons) Building Services Engineering – preferable.
* IOSH directing safely - preferable.
* Computer Skills - MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel.
