Vesynta
Vesynta is an investor-backed precision medicine company based within the London Cancer Hub building clinical decision support software that personalises dosing of critical therapies at the point of care. We are driven each day to support patients (children, but also women and those with diverse ethnic heritages) who have been traditionally under-represented and poorly served by traditional coarse dosing methodologies. We provide clinicians with access to data-backed pharmacology models; resulting in dosing regimens that illicit fewer toxic side effects, and significantly improved treatment efficacy. Our team is fast-paced, results-oriented, and mission driven.
The Job
We are looking for a senior full stack software engineer to take a leading role in delivering web (and mobile) applications to our first customers; with the backing of user-validated designs, a small but growing team of frontend and backend engineers and an experienced in-house pharmacology team. You will play a central role in our software team, bringing substantial practical experience to both frontend and backend development.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
* Writing high-quality, maintainable code
* Managing pull requests and conducting thorough code reviews
* Developing architectures and technical solutions
Your focus will be directed towards implementation: driving the build of robust and scalable web and mobile software. You will interface directly with the CTO and product owner, informing technical strategy and translating requirements into actionable technical plans and deliverables. In addition, you will support and mentor the growth of junior developers.
Requirements
We are looking for:
1. Minimum of 5 years in full stack development, deploying production-level web and/or mobile applications.
2. Ability to write clean and maintainable code across our tech stack: Flutter (Dart), PostgreSQL, Django (Python).
3. Experience with REST API, database, and microservice architecture design.
4. Implementation of CI/CD pipelines.
5. Effective delivery within an Agile development environment.
6. Willingness to participate in all-company and software-team on-site anchor days i.e., working from the office 2-3 days per week.
Whilst not essential, we also value experience:
* Integrating with prominent Electronic Healthcare Record systems (specifically EPIC or Oracle Cerner), and FHIR HL7 standards for healthcare data exchange.
* Developing for regulated environments with strict regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485) and healthcare IT policies, GDPR, HIPAA regulations, Aloca++ and working with PHI.
* Data engineering (e.g. R, Fortran etc).
If you are excited about this opportunity, and even if you don't meet all of the above requirements, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE. We are open minded and will welcome your application.
Our recruitment process
Our recruitment process takes around 2-3 weeks end-to-end. You will have multiple opportunities to meet key team members, discover more about the role. The stages are as follows:
1. Application (screening questionnaire and CV).
2. Independent coding assessment via HackerRank (~90 mins).
3. Introductory video call (15 mins).
4. Coding assessment over video call (40 mins).
5. Online interview with the team (30 mins).
6. Final online assessment (2 hrs), with a pre-set take-home assignment (~2 hrs).
Benefits
Employee benefits include:
* Opportunity to create, and deliver real-world impact for those who are critically ill.
* Hybrid and flexible working policy, where team well-being and quality of work are prioritised.
* 30 days annual leave allowance and TOIL provision.
* Subsidised private health insurance and salary sacrifice schemes (home tech., bicycles, electric cars).
* Stock options.
* Independent industry-leading HR and Health & Safety services and Employee Assistance Programme ensuring personal and professional well-being.
* NEST workplace pension, structured maternity/paternity packages and family-friendly working arrangements.
* Vesynta is a UK approved VISA sponsor.
