Role Summary:
The Business Development Manager role requires a pro-active candidate from a technical product sales or engineering background who has completed some further education. Any experience within the field of EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) is an advantage, although this is not compulsory. This is a home-based position and it is expected that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time visiting customers in the designated territory.
There will be a regular need to visit the design and manufacturing facility in Cumbria a couple of times a month, and a need to visit overseas customers, agents and distributors on an as-required basis. UK and Overseas travel are essential.
Thorough understanding of sales and negotiating techniques.
Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations.
Proficient written, verbal, telephone, and presentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure, organise and prioritise responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
1. Generating high quality sales leads for the business.
2. Identify new business opportunities for standard and custom products and work with the team to convert the opportunity into Orders/Sales.
3. Working to KPI’s.
4. Development of customer visits to Key accounts, agents, and distributors for new opportunities.
5. Work remotely and as a team member with internal and external sales team.
6. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services.
7. Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions and/or conferences.
8. Generating of proposals and standard quotations.
