Trainee Project Engineer
Radius Group, a leader in providing lifting solutions, is seeking a Trainee Project Engineer with CAD experience to contribute to our Contract Lift engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and lift plans that are essential for the operation of cranes and other lifting equipment. This role demands a high level of accuracy and a general understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
Responsibilities:
* Design and draft detailed 2D and 3D models of crane components and lifting equipment using AutoCAD and Cranebee Software.
* Collaborate with Lifting Contracts Managers to translate conceptual designs into detailed schematics that meet engineering specifications.
* Update and revise existing drawings and layouts as required by project changes and enhancements.
* Ensure lift plans and drawings comply with industry standards and safety regulations specific to lifting equipment.
* Assist in preparing technical documentation for project planning and implementation.
* Participate in project meetings to provide updates on CAD project progress and coordinate with other team members.
* Manage and maintain project files, ensuring documentation is accessible and organized.
* Assist with troubleshooting and modification of lifting proposals to resolve issues during the lifting operation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Strong proficiency using AutoCAD as a CAD technician or similar role.
* Management and creation of AutoCAD Dynamic Block libraries.
* Previous experience using Cranimax Cranebee an advantage, but not essential.
* Proven experience using Microsoft Office software
* Experience of lifting practices and associated legislation an advantage.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Knowledge of industry, engineering, construction, or architectural standards is a plus.
