Contract: Permanent
Location: County Libraries Unit, Hereford
Hours: 37
Salary: HC07 £31,067 - £35,235 per annum
Closing date: 28/02/2025
The role
Herefordshire Libraries has an exciting opportunity for an experienced librarian to join our friendly County Libraries Team. The successful candidate will work with colleagues, partners, and volunteers across the service to manage our stock and support services team and library systems, and support the delivery of excellent library services to the whole community.
What will you be doing?
* Managing our Stock Services team, who provide support services to the network of libraries across the county and act as the central contact point for support and advice on library services and resources.
* Managing and developing library systems, including our Library Management System, public computers, online resources, library websites, and our Herefordshire History digitisation project.
* Manage the collection and report of library statistics, and contribute to the development of the library strategy and service plans.
* Working closely with our other librarians, you will help select and manage library stock, and support the development of library sites, services, and resources countywide.
* Assist with the management, procurement, and development of library contracts, supplies and services.
* You’ll be based at our County Libraries Unit in Hereford but will be visiting and working with sites all over Herefordshire. So you will need the ability to travel independently to all parts of the county.
This is a great time to join our service while we develop our new library strategy and our new central library in the Hereford Shirehall. If you have appropriate experience and skills and are looking at the next stage of your career, we can help you develop your professional, management & supervisory skills in a supportive and welcoming environment.
