Job overview
Due to the expansion of the Respiratory Service, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated innovative physiotherapist to join our multi-disciplinary team specialising in Respiratory care.
You will help to shape the future of respiratory care within Gloucestershire. You will need to have the drive and energy with the ability to work both within a team and autonomously. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to record documentation as per professional standards.
Main duties of the job
The respiratory service specialises in caring for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Asthma, Bronchiectasis, and Pulmonary Fibrosis.
The role is varied and challenging and will suit someone who is willing to work in different locations across the county. You will visit patients in their homes, in respiratory physiotherapy clinics, and class settings (including virtual), working together with colleagues to deliver education and exercise programmes. You will provide interventions to help manage the symptoms of respiratory disease which may include performing assessments for patients requiring home oxygen therapy. You will also be working in partnership with the hospital-based respiratory team as part of our strategy to deliver the best possible care to the service users of Gloucestershire.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Gloucestershire Respiratory Service is a county-wide integrated service linking in with primary care and secondary care services. There are four arms to the service which are:
1. Home Oxygen assessment and management including the use of blood gases to direct treatment decisions
2. Respiratory Assessment and treatment
3. Pulmonary Rehabilitation
4. Physiotherapy Clinic for patients with suspected breathing pattern disorders and sputum retention problems
There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will work across the service arms depending on professional background and experience.
Person specification
Experience
* Sufficient experience working within Respiratory
* Evidence of airway clearance skills and/or BPD
* Evidence of community NHS experience
* Evidence of working within Pulmonary Rehab
Knowledge
* Evidence of relevant HCPC - Physiotherapy
* Evidence of commitment to CPD e.g. MSc modules or relevant post-grad qualifications
* Evidence of NMP
