Salary: Circa £45k plus 9% annual bonus

An opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Engineer at a major industrial gases production facility in Brinsworth, Sheffield. The successful candidate will join a team of skilled engineers and provide technical guidance and support on a wide range of mechanical equipment, including piping, valves, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating machinery, and transportable pressure equipment
This vacancy will suit an experienced time served mechanical technician with previous experience with centrifugal / reciprocating compressors and pumps with a general heavy engineering background who is ideally be looking to get into a line manager role.
You will be an experienced time served mechanical technician who may also have some process or commissioning experience along with strong practical SHEQ knowledge including permit to work and contractor control.
The role:
Responsible for supporting the mechanical maintenance programme for all aspects of production on-site and on the offsite plants to measured KPI targets and response to breakdowns to ensure continuous reliable and efficient operation,
* you will be responsible for Mechanical Engineering deliverables for projects and operations, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget and to customer requirements
* You will ensure all work is done safely and in compliance with all company rules, relevant standards, and legislation
* You will contribute to and collaborate with others to deliver continuous improvements, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and utilise digital tools to drive productivity
* Lastly, you will work with a great team of experienced engineers, who will train, coach, and inspire you in your early career.
* You’ll be provided with mentor, to help support you achieve Chartered Engineer status, if you haven’t already achieved this
Knowledge and Experience Required:
* Recognised apprenticeship, ONC / HNC or Degree in a mechanical engineering discipline.
* Minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent
* Experience of working in a process plant environment.
* Experience of maintenance of rotating machinery, including CBM.
* An understanding of Pressure Systems & Safety Regulations 2000.
* Experience of permit to work procedures and systems.
* Good understanding of current Health, Safety and Environment legislation, IOSHH managing safely course required to be undertaken.
* Full driving licence required
