Role: Payroll and Pensions Admin REF 365574 Contract Length: Until October 2025 Location: Northallerton IR35: Inside Pay Rate to Intermediary: £16.05 per hour Spinwell is recruiting for a Payroll and Pensions Admin for an excellent opportunity within the public sector. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PAYROLL AND PENSIONS ADMIN Provide a first point of contact for both telephone enquiries and correspondence and to provide an effective, efficient, and courteous response, ensuring a high-quality service in accordance with service delivery policies and procedures, proactive operation of administrative and financial processes to maximise their efficiency. Respond to queries and provide advice, guidance or signposting to internal and external customers on transactional support services, key procedures and processes as appropriate. Support the Payroll and Pension Officers in ensuring that transactions are processed in compliance with Police / Fire legislation and regulations, policies, and procedures in a timely manner. Contribute to or participate in key payroll and pension related projects or initiatives for both clients. Responsible for providing high quality, credible and timely payroll and pensions transactional support services, covering but not limited to audit requirements, policy & procedure. Develop and maintain good knowledge of key processes and procedures, identifying, resolving, and escalating issues as appropriate. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, key stakeholders, unions, and staff associations. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE PAYROLL AND PENSIONS ADMIN To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of delivering high quality, customer orientated administrative services to meet required SLAs and KPIs, ideally in a high-volume environment. Youll have excellent customer service, problem solving and interpersonal skills, to respond to queries on basic payroll and pension processes, both verbally and written to a broad range of diverse and demanding customers across a variety of platforms. Youll be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and IT systems, have a high level of attention to detail and be comfortable with producing and presenting accurate data and information.
