Want a Costa Coffee from our in-house Costa Café in school?
Yes, that’s right we have a Costa Café with one free coffee each week for every member of staff.
Want a morning or afternoon free from teaching so you can pick up the kids, go to the gym, walk the dog or just relax?
Well, come and join us. This is just one of the many wellbeing initiatives we have at the school.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to become part of our successful Music department, with dedicated Music suites, a dedicated Sound and Performance Technician and excellent equipment. We are also in the exciting position of being an Associate School with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and launching ‘Spotlight’, our Performing Arts stream, for the first cohort in September 2024. The successful candidate will be student-centred and prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ to help students perform at all levels.
Northampton Academy is a transformational comprehensive and non-selective school of approximately 1700 students, serving a diverse community. We were proud to be judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted in all areas in March 2023. Our values, which underpin every decision we take, are Respect, Determination, Ambition, Tolerance and Integrity. We have a comprehensive student character-building programme, which has been nationally recognised through the Character Quality Mark Plus that was awarded in November 2021.
The leadership of the academy is completely determined to create an environment in which teachers can get on with their core role: delivering excellent lessons. To this end, the student behaviour system is clear and simple and easy to administer in lessons. If action is needed beyond these simple steps, the pastoral and senior teams take all the burden away from the teachers, conducting detentions, following up and dealing with parents on your behalf. Teachers at the academy speak of this as one of the major benefits of working here. In addition to this, teachers are trusted to be professionals through:
Ongoing professional training and development as well as networking opportunities throughout the United Learning Multi Academy Trust.
For applicants who aspire to enter the teaching profession, opportunities are available through the United Learning Multi Academy Trust.
A competitive salary, an on-site fitness centre, a commitment to your personal development and a flexible benefit scheme.
A genuine ‘flexi-working’ approach with at least one opportunity a week to come in late or leave early for every teaching member of staff
Northampton Academy is part of United Learning, a unique group of independent and state schools working together to achieve the best in everyone. Our vision is to provide excellent education so that all young people are able to make a success of their lives and, if we are to realise this vision, we need to make sure we attract, develop and reward the key ingredient – you.
Northampton Academy is committed to equal opportunities and to the protection and safety of all students and adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share these commitments.
