Job Description
Wood is recruiting for a Senior Operations Consultant to join its Operations Readiness team, focusing on the development and review of operations manuals and other technical documentation to ensure clients have all the necessary items in place to commence safe and efficient process operations.
The Role
Reporting to the Lead Operations Consultant, the primary focus of this role is to develop documentation and data for operations documentation projects for new projects (greenfield) and further developing and enhancing operations documentation for facilities currently in use within operations (brownfield). The overarching objective is to deliver operations documentation oversight to improve overall operational efficiency and safety of plant, personnel and production processes in operations.
A key aspect of the role is ensuring client satisfaction and requirements are met in developing quality operations documentation solutions, within scope, budget and to required timescales.
Responsibilities
* Develop technical deliverables (documentation) to ensure compliance with project requirements, based on templates agreed and approved by the Client. Typically, this requires the development of Operating Manuals and Procedures for equipment, systems, and facilities.
* Review peer-developed technical deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements.
* Inform the Lead Operations Consultant on projected technical issues, constraints, and/or any potential shortfalls.
* Highlight issues related to document development and technical compliance as needed.
* Liaise with Clients and all associated third parties in relation to project work scopes under the direction of a Lead Operations Consultant.
* Attend Client technical meetings as and when required.
* Provide comprehensive and timely progress reports to the Lead Operations Consultant.
* Ensure all work is implemented in accordance with the Company Business (Quality) Management System – use and maintain discipline check-sheets for all development effort.
* Maintain own work plan and allocation of priorities while collaborating with the rest of the team.
* Proactively communicate with Operations Lead and Project Managers about all project issues.
* Contribute to the evaluation and preparation of bids/tenders/quotations as required by Lead Operations Consultant.

* Previous practical operational experience within oil and gas, marine or petrochemical industries.
* Time served or HNC/HND / Degree qualified with experience in hands-on operations and / or document authoring.
* Excellent understanding of Operations and Maintenance practices (including industry best practices and regulatory requirements).
* Ability to explain the functionality of process equipment.
* Competent in reviewing detailed engineering drawings (e.g., P&ID’s, Cause & Effect and Alarm Set Point Registers).
* Technical writing skills experience.
