Long Road is a thriving, successful post-16 Sixth Form College with 2,400 students on roll in post-16 studies. Conveniently located close to the M11 and A14, the college is set in the thriving and expanding city of Cambridge, next to the Biomedical Campus within its own attractive grounds. Long Road was judged by OFSTED to be Good in all five categories in 2019, and we are now taking the next steps to become an Outstanding College.
Commencing as soon as possible, we require a reliable and trustworthy Site Officer to assist our site team in maintaining the day-to-day operations and the security of the college and its grounds. You will be working 37 hours per week, on an agreed three-week shift pattern; the early shift is 7.00am 3.00pm, the day shift is 8.00am 4.00pm, and the late shift is 12.00pm 8.00pm. You would also work one Saturday in four (on top of 37-hour week) and the pay is incorporated into the annual salary. Experience of basic maintenance work is essential, as is a flexible approach to working hours.
To be successful, you should have
Five GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent or suitable equivalent vocational training.
Experience of basic maintenance work.
Experience of basic administrative tasks.
The ability to work safely without direct supervision.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good organisation skills.
A commitment to deliver excellent standards of service for young people.
A flexible approach to working hours.
A keen eye for detail and commitment to promoting a pleasing and safe environment.
The willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
A personal commitment to relevant legislation and good practice.
Relevant Health and Safety training.
Experience of caretaking or premises work.
Knowledge of operation of building management systems.
PAT testing experience.
