Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Autism
East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Child Health Team based in Thanet to be part of the ASD diagnostic team. Depending on the candidate's experience and preferences, it is likely that one of the days will be working within the community team leading on interventions for autistic children and running a local special interest group to support less experienced clinicians to deliver neuro-affirmative speech and language therapy. We encourage an evidenced based, outcome focused approach to meeting the needs of our service users. We currently provide an ASD diagnostic service to children under the age of 8 years. This post will be based at Green Banks Centre in Margate with the community day in Buckland Hospital, Dover. You will be responsible for providing an expert speech and language therapy opinion as part of the autism diagnostic process. You will be working predominantly with paediatricians but the post will also include some working with psychologists and specialist nurses. Clinics may be required on occasion in Canterbury. You may also have some clinics where you will be providing an ADOS only appointment.
