Position
2025 will be an exciting time for our Marine team as we build on our previous success and look to develop and grow.
We undertake intertidal and subtidal marine and estuarine surveys, and our laboratory specialises in processing benthic faunal samples for a variety of exciting projects both from the UK and abroad.
We are looking to recruit a number of experienced marine biologists into the team who can help us to achieve these plans for growth.
As a technical expert in your field, you will be responsible for project delivery, fostering the growth of the team and delivering high quality work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Requirements
We would especially like to hear from candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
Laboratory management - leading a laboratory team, managing resources effectively to ensure timely, high quality sample analysis.
Marine surveying - leading/ managing surveying activities for marine projects, ensuring accurate sample and data collection, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will have experience of co-ordinating and undertaking intertidal and subtidal benthic surveys.
Taxonomic skills - experienced analysts able to undertake taxonomic identification of species from benthic samples.
Commercial skills - building relationships with prospective and existing clients, preparing quotes and tenders and managing team financial performance. You will have experience of bidding for, and winning marine work.
Additionally, all candidates must:
hold a degree in Marine Biology or related subject.
have experience of managing projects
be enthusiastic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Our Marine laboratory is based in Guildford. Our survey work varies in location but occasional attendance at the Guildford office would be required.
