The Role:
Time Recruitment is managing this fantastic opportunity for an experienced Deputy Compliance Officer for Legal Practise to support the Compliance Officer for Legal Practise (COLP) in ensuring the firm's compliance with all regulatory obligations. This role involves mitigating regulatory risks, handling claims and complaints, and conducting compliance-related research and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the COLP in handling claims, complaints, Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and associated litigation.
Supporting regulatory risk mitigation and ensuring compliance with legal industry regulations.
Overseeing the firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) procedures, including conducting relevant searches.
Maintaining and updating central risk registers, such as complaints and professional indemnity notifications.
Liaising with members of the Business Support Group regarding risk management projects.
Assisting in file reviews and compliance audits.
Conducting ad-hoc legal and regulatory research to ensure the firm remains compliant with industry changes.
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. You must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining high compliance standards.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3 years of Litigation experience.
Strong knowledge of legal regulations and compliance (Housing Disrepair knowledge preferred but not essential).
Experience with case management systems (Proclaim preferred).
IT literate with excellent research and analytical skills.
Familiarity with law firm regulations and professional standards.
Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
Confidence in liaising with senior managers and partners.
