NEP UK is seeking an experienced Head of Transport who is passionate about maintaining excellence in road transport management and safety. We are proud to hold a high OCRS score. If you have a keen eye for detail and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want you on our team!
What You’ll Do:
1. OCRS Excellence: Regularly monitor and take prompt action to maintain our high OCRS scores, a key measure of success.
2. DVSA Interaction: Manage all interactions with the DVSA efficiently, ensuring compliance and immediately reporting any issues to the Director of Operations.
3. Vehicle and Driver Data Management: Keep meticulous and up-to-date records of all vehicle and driver documentation.
4. Maintenance Schedules: Devise and maintain comprehensive schedules for routine servicing, MOTs, PMIs, brake tests, tachograph calibrations, and LOLER inspections, minimizing business impact.
5. Driver Defect Sheets: Ensure defects are documented, actioned, and resolved promptly, maintaining detailed records of all actions taken.
6. Tachograph Analysis: Regularly download, analyse, and log tachograph data, addressing any infringements with drivers and maintaining communication records.
7. "O" Licence Requirements: Ensure full adherence to ‘O’ licence requirements, working closely with the Office of the Traffic Commissioners.
8. HGV Licensed Driver: Ensure all HGV licensed drivers are compliant with the necessary regulations and maintain high standards of road safety and transport management.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Essential Experience: Transportation management over multiple years, preferably with large fleets.
2. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Road Transport Regulations and DVSA requirements, with experience in maintaining high OCRS scores. Technical background in HGV road maintenance standards and MOT requirements. Knowledge of geographical locations in the UK and Europe, and familiarity with GB Domestic and EU driver hour rules.
3. Skills: Strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure. Lateral thinker, problem-solver and team orientated.
4. Qualifications: Good level of foundation education including Maths and English, HGV driver licence, and full UK driving licence. Desirable qualifications include a Standard International Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Haulage, City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Commercial Vehicle Fleet Management, and A-levels or BTEC Level 3 (or equivalent qualification).

More Details:
This is a full-time job between Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm. Due to the nature of outside broadcasting and live events, some occasional outside core hours support may be required and flexibility may be necessary.
