We are currently seeking a talented and driven Content Writer to join our Head Office team in Colliers Wood (SW19 2JD). In this role, you will serve as a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bid and Policy Writer, playing a key part in our dynamic and collaborative environment. Your primary responsibilities will include crafting high-quality bid responses for NHS tenders, preparing contract management reports, and developing policy documents that adhere to contractual and regulatory standards.
You will also work closely with our Marketing and Communications (MarComms) team to ensure consistency, clarity, and impact in all written content, contributing to the overall success of our mission to improve lives through exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities:
Bid Writing:
* Prepare, write, and submit well-structured responses to NHS tenders.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information and ensure all requirements are met in line with the tender specifications.
* Conduct thorough research and analysis of the tendering NHS Trust, industry trends, and competitors to tailor bids accordingly.
* Ensure compliance with bid requirements, including tender specifications and timelines.
* Monitor bid submission deadlines and manage timelines to ensure timely delivery of proposals.
* Maintain an organised repository of tender documents, templates, and past submissions for future use.
Policy Writing:
* Draft, revise, and review policy documents such as organisational policies, government regulations, or public policy papers.
* Ensure policies are aligned with legal, regulatory, contractual and organisational requirements while clearly articulating goals, procedures, and standards.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure policies are relevant, actionable, and reflect organisational objectives.
* Conduct research to stay informed about relevant legislative and industry changes to ensure policies are up to date.
* Support the development of guidance materials and internal communication documents to aid in policy implementation.
Contract Management Reporting:
* Prepare, review, and manage contract-related reports, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and aligned with contractual obligations.
General Writing and Editing:
* Produce clear, concise, and impactful written content for both bid submissions and policy papers.
* Edit and proofread documents to ensure they are free from errors, logically structured, and properly formatted.
Continuous Improvement:
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of bid and policy writing processes and tools.
* Identify areas for streamlining and improving the efficiency of proposal preparation and policy development.
* Stay current with best practices, trends, and tools in bid and policy writing to enhance the quality of submissions.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
* Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Political Science, Public Administration.
* Some experience in bid writing, policy writing, or technical writing, preferably in healthcare either in the public or private sector is preferable but not mandatory.
* Understanding of public sector procurement processes and policy development frameworks will be an advantage.
* Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to blend complex technical information into clear, engaging, and accessible language.
* Excellent research skills to gather data from various sources and apply it in bid and policy documents.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
* Familiarity with proposal management software and other tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, etc.), especially the use of Microsoft PowerPoint to create visually engaging and impactful presentation slides.
