Description Overview The Fee for Service Manager you will support the Senior Manager delivering a wider range of various ad-hoc pension technical projects that sit outside of the BAU pension administration activities to DB, DC and Hybrid occupational pension schemes. You will be responsible for leading the team and effectively and efficiently deliver external client project work agreed with trustees/clients whilst working with various teams to ensure the implementation of these projects is met on time and in budget. You will work with the Client Partnership Team to ensure that projects are appropriately scoped, costed, priced and contracted. This will include scope analysis and the creation and maintenance of plans for delivery. Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Strategic Focus Plan, manage and deliver pension projects to clients for fee for service. This includes managing key stakeholders, project team, timelines, budgets and reporting Develop and maintain a wide range of key effective working relationships with the Trustees and their advisors Operational Management Develop detailed schedules and documents to track progress and measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques, using Retirement Solutions standards developed by the Value Office where appropriate. Proactively review projects against defined scope and delivery agreed with clients and manage changes in project scope, budgets and identify potential issues. Review client needs and analyse the impact to design appropriate implementation processes, along with specifying, monitoring and analysing MI. Oversee the build of proformas and other calculation solutions considering scheme rules and legislative knowledge. Handle key aspects of all assigned client agreed projects including pension revisions, member communications, record updating, data entry and data analysis. Produce relevant and accurate pensions calculations, whilst utilising the various IT systems Attend client/trustee meetings regularly to update on delivery. People Leadership Managing a team of senior administrators, you will be required to perform end-to-end performance cycle activity – goal setting, performance reviews etc. Participate in selection processes as required. Identify related training needs and work with senior managers to develop the relevant procedure manuals. Governance & Risk Peer review of complex calculations as required, interpreting the rules of the schemes and other documentation. Work with a combination of teams across the function, whilst managing the risk management documentation to minimise project risks. Identify and implement improvements as part of the process of continual improvement to efficiencies. Ensure that where relevant currently legislation is considered and included in any delivery of proformas and calculation solutions. Experience & Personal Attributes Previous experience of delivering projects for external clients to successful completion. Experience in developing and implementing process and systems changes. Working knowledge of pension buy-in’s/out’s and transition processes Pension Industry knowledge of GMP, DB, DC and hybrid schemes. Previous experience of working on related projects for these is highly desirable. Previous exposure to working with DB pension legislation. Strong stakeholder management skills. Demonstrate advanced skills on Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to manipulate MI for analysis/reporting purposes. Proven people management experience Excellent communicator
