Job summary
Wolverton Health Centrehas an opportunity for aprescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team, at the heart of our patient care service. This role is offered on a part-time basis, for 25 hours per week with the times required below:
1. Week 1: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8am-1pm, Tuesday & Thursday 1pm-6pm.
2. Week 2: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 1pm-6pm, Tuesday & Thursday 8am-1pm.
Main duties of the job
3. Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking email requests and involves a rota system to cover the collection and drop off of all prescriptions from each site.
4. Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
5. Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
6. Sending out review letters.
7. Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs.
8. Prescribing Incentive Scheme issue reports and letters, working around any guidelines issued to ensure budget reductions where possible.
9. Medicine management liaise and discuss any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
10. General ad hoc administration work.
11. Flexibility to cover other areas when required.
12. Keep up to date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.
