Required Skills customer service Job Summary Job Title: Customer Service Specialist (Manufacturing) Location: Bar Hill, Cambridge Salary: £28,000 per annum Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM - 4:45 PM; Friday: 8:30 AM - 12:30PM Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm (3 months temporary leading to a permanent position) About the Opportunity: Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a talented and proactive Customer Service Specialist to join their office-based team in Bar Hill, Cambridge. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment where you will manage customer accounts, oversee order processing, and liaise across departments to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality products and services. Key Responsibilities: • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and support via phone and email • Process orders efficiently, including handling purchase order changes, rescheduling, and managing rework, return, and repair orders. • Collaborate with internal departments such as Production and Purchasing to address shortages, resolve escalations, and meet delivery deadlines. • Maintain accurate system records, including price lists, quotations, RFQs, BOMs, and technical drawing databases. • Create and update customer quotations based on BOMs and technical drawings. • Update and manage the customer order book, ensuring clear communication of changes both internally and externally. • Address and resolve day-to-day issues related to order delivery, assist with sales forecasts, and support job costing. • Participate in production meetings, stock takes, and audits, as well as raising credit and debit notes when needed. • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Candidate Requirements: • Previous experience in a customer service role within a manufacturing environment. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential). • Ability to interpret technical drawings and BOMs (preferred). • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (preferred). • Proactive, self-motivated, and adept at problem-solving. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting both independently and as part of a team.
