A leading supplier of splitter vans and sleeper buses supplied to customers in the UK are looking for an Parts & Service Manager managing the stock control system, ordering and parts in/out process, ensuring parts are sourced and allocated to vehicles appropriately to minimise vehicle downtime. You will also have responsibility for managing servicing for the Van fleet, ensuring scheduled and preventative maintenance is completed in line with KPIs. They are looking for an organised, computer literate candidate with good communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
Duties will include
· Ensuring any new vehicle defects are added to the Vehicle Management System efficiently
· Generating daily reports of vehicles off road/with significant issues
· Ensuring MOT, preventative work and services are booked in appropriately, maximising hire availability
· Engaging and negotiating with suppliers to ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner
· Managing the parts storage and stocktaking processes including booking parts in and allocating them to vehicles
· Managing the return and disposal process for parts no longer required by our fleet, ensuring items with surcharges are processed appropriately
Experience Required:
· A good basic knowledge of vehicles is essential. Some mechanical experience or previous experience of managing vehicle parts would be ideal
· Stores experience in a mechanical/garage environment or comparable environment
· Ability to work with only limited supervision and takes ownership of tasks
· Experience of dealing with invoice/account queries, setting up new suppliers
· Computer literacy including experience of inventory control IT systems and their application in stores/parts operations
· Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act including manual handling - The capacity to lift products to 20kg in a safe manner
· Full UK valid driver's License
The position is 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day between 7.00am - 6.00pm to suit and be agreed, Monday - Friday with 1 hour of unpaid breaks per day in addition. There may be times when additional hours are required and clock in/out on a daily basis with overtime paid or time taken in lieu. Salary is between £26 - £30k depending on experience.
