They have recently commenced a new project in Thatcham, just outside Reading, and are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead the construction of a six-classroom block from start to finish. This project offers stability and the potential for future opportunities within the business for the right candidate. The Role of the Site Manager: Reporting directly to the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Overseeing the successful delivery of the six-classroom design and build project, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Managing site teams, subcontractors, and direct operatives, ensuring seamless operations and minimal disruption. Implementing and enforcing strict Health & Safety regulations, ensuring full compliance with industry standards. Working closely with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to maintain clear communication and effective project execution. Taking responsibility for site logistics, quality control, and progress reporting to senior management. Providing input on project management activities where needed, contributing to the overall success of the project. Requirements for the Site Manager Role: Proven experience as a Site Manager on design and build projects, ideally within the education sector. A solid understanding of all-round construction processes and project management tasks. Ability to lead and coordinate teams effectively while maintaining a keen eye for detail. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to keep the project on a tight schedule. Must hold valid certifications: SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Fire Marshal. Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.
