Assistant Buyer
Stockport - Hybrid Working
Summary
This role is to be responsible for performing purchase order processing routines and delivery assurance, as well as stock replenishment routines. This role is also responsible for supplier returns and returns replacement, assisting with stock management, stock controls and stock-take and supporting the supply chain function including general administration tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
Purchase order processing:
1. Purchase Orders: Raising routine purchase orders for production stock, R&D and ad hoc requirements via Sharepoint purchase request system, with a focus on best quality, price and delivery.
2. Delivery assurance: Monitor and expedite order deliveries and report any supplier delivery issues.
3. Assist finance department with customs clearance of incoming purchase orders.
Data Maintenance
4. Maintain supplier and component database to ensure data integrity.
5. Maintain supplier database with latest contact details for supplies including price, country of origin and specification updates from suppliers to ensure data is consistently updated in real time.
6. Assist with stock take routines: preparation for and participation in periodic stock takes.
7. Management of supplier free issue goods for sub-contract assembly/finishing.
8. Data analysis including reporting on inventory levels, re-order points; and suggested process improvements.
Other Tasks
9. Responsible for general administration tasks regarding the purchasing function.
10. Attendance with/in place of Senior Buyer for meetings as required.
11. Any other tasks commensurate with the role.
General Tasks
12. Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
13. Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.
