Full Stack Software Engineer - Python and JavaScript/React
Hybrid working (2 days per week) in Brighton
Salary to £65k plus excellent benefits
My client is a leading Digital eCommerce marketplace platform company with their European Headquarters based in Central Brighton. They also have offices in New York and Berlin, and they are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their team of over 500 people working remotely and with 2 days per week in their beautiful, hi-tech Brighton offices.
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be building Python server applications in a service-oriented architecture and deploying them to Kubernetes. There is also a requirement to occasionally assist the Frontend Engineers in some UI development work using TypeScript and React.js.

This role is based two days per week in their high-tech offices in Brighton, with a team of co-located skilled engineers and product professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement Python web services in Django and Flask
2. Assist in some Frontend development work on occasion using React and JavaScript/TypeScript
3. Maintain and extend existing Python web services based on new feature requirements and business needs
4. Collaborate with Frontend Engineers and Test Automation Engineers to ensure integrations with APIs are correct and complete
5. Document your APIs so they can be consumed downstream by the Frontend and Test Automation teams as well as Data Analytics teams.
Skills and experience:
1. Strong experience with Python development
2. Experience with the Django framework & ORM
3. Some experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and a JS framework like React, Vue, or similar
4. Experience managing Git workflows
5. Understanding of Relational Databases, PostgreSQL, MySQL
6. Experience with Docker both building and running images
7. Experience working in an Agile / Scrum team
8. Comfortable with working outside of your main discipline in order to collaborate across your Scrum team
