Post Title: Refuse/Recycling Collection Operative Team: Operations Waste Management and Transport Salary: From 25,584 to 27,269 per annum The Waste and Street Cleansing service is based at Bradley Fold and comes under the Operations Directorate. We provide a waste and recycling collection service to 84,500 households and circa. 1,400 businesses across Bury. The role involves collecting waste and recycling materials from households/businesses within the Borough and loading into specialist collection vehicles. You will work with the Driver/Team Leader and other operative in order to ensure the delivery of a quality, customer focused service in line with service requirements. You will also be responsible for the health and safety of yourself and of other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work. You will become familiar with and always comply with the Council s general health and safety policy and the service s specific health and safety policies and procedures. You will treat members of the public courteously at all times, noting any complaints and messages and pass them on to the Driver/Team Leader for attention. Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week Tuesday-Friday 06:45-16:30. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work evenings and weekends. You will also be expected to undergo designated training sessions as necessary, which may be out of normal working hours and/or at other establishments. Any training outside of normal working hours will mostly take place on Mondays and be paid on an overtime basis.
