HUC provides the NHS 111 and Out of Hours GP service to over 4.5 million patients across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, West Essex and the South West of England. HUC is an exciting and supportive place to work; no two shifts are the same and we have a wealth of knowledge across the organisation, ensuring we get the most appropriate outcome for every caller.

2. Using your clinical knowledge to signpost patients to the most appropriate level of care; this could include an emergency ambulance, GP appointment, or home management advice.
3. Applying your clinical expertise to assess an individual's health condition.
4. Working within the NHS Pathways system content to advise service users, their representatives, and Health Advisors.
5. Ensuring that every patient interaction is conducted appropriately, with an emphasis on the provision of clear, evidence-based advice and signposting to an appropriate service.
6. Understanding, adhering to, and promoting the principles of information governance concerning access to clinical records and handling patient identifiable information.
7. Understanding, adhering to, and promoting local policies for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, making timely referrals to the appropriate services according to policy.
8. Understanding, adhering to, and promoting the principles of risk management in relation to patient and staff wellbeing, the physical environment, and the systems in use.
9. Promoting local best practices in relation to clinical assessment and provision of advice to service users and their representatives.
