About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for two professionals to join the Actuarial Reporting team as Technical Actuarial Specialists.
We require process automation expertise, and candidates who can design, implement, test, and document efficient process automation solutions (for complex actuarial processes), to high technical standards in order to meet user requirements in Actuarial Reporting and the wider Finance team.
This role is offered as a 12-month fixed term contract (however there is a potential for this to be extended) with flexible hybrid working arrangements (you may be required to visit our Bournemouth offices on occasion).
About You
Our ideal candidate will…
* Have a proven history of delivering IT-focused process automation solutions (ideally within an actuarial context), using best practice, and delivering in an accurate, timely and clear manner.
* Be an excellent communicator, with the ability to deliver complex information in a clear manner, both written and verbally.
* Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and techniques used across the team.
* Possess the ability to self-motivate and manage time efficiently, to deliver to stretching deadlines, whilst working independently.
* Support and seek out continuous improvement activity.
* Hold strong IT / process engineering skills.
* Possess good knowledge of automation / data analysis tools including PowerShell, Python, Excel, VBA, and Power BI (please detail on your CV).
* Understand the principles of data storage, manipulation, and analysis.
* Have knowledge of Prophet, AFM or other similar actuarial models (advantageous).
* Be experienced in the UK financial services / life insurance market, ideally in the context of actuarial reporting.
* Have sufficient awareness of limitations to process and company circumstances, in order to escalate issues that require further support to resolve.
* Display good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex, technical information to fellow professionals, senior management, and internal committees.
* Build strong relationships with teams in Finance and across other departments to support achievement of your objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include...
* Designing, implementing, testing, and documenting process automation solutions for complex actuarial processes.
* Actively engaging with users to ensure requirements are met and to support UAT and the implementation of new processes.
* Competently using Microsoft Power/Platform apps.
* Clearly and concisely communicating complex work through written or verbal presentations and reports for a range of stakeholders and senior decision makers when required.
* Providing training, guidance and coaching to Actuarial Analysts, Senior Actuarial Analysts, and other Technical Actuarial Specialists, to promote cross-skilling.
* Promoting good risk management practices and ensuring all applicable LVFS policies are followed (may set policy in own area of expertise).
