Title: Commercial Consultant – Assurance & Risk Location: London Reports to: Commercial Lead Vetting Level: Any offers would be subject to vetting and right to work checks. The starting salary is £45,073, which includes allowances totalling £2,841. Role Description You will support the Commercial Assurance Lead in delivering an evidence-based performance, risk, and assurance service. Your responsibilities include: Analyzing and reporting on commercial risk for MPS’ third-party arrangements. Working closely with The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) to ensure compliance with contracts. Developing relationships with key suppliers to drive value for money and risk management excellence. Providing high-quality, insightful analysis to support MPS’ objectives. Key Responsibilities Understand and contribute to MPS’ commercial strategy. Analyze performance, risk, and assurance to provide high-quality guidance. Support audit activities and undertake governance and assurance tasks. Communicate regulatory, legislative, and best practice changes. Aid in policy and strategy development for commercial assurance. Support business continuity planning and analyze supplier risk. Provide support, education, and training to build risk awareness. Mentor junior team members and work on sensitive projects as required. Essential Criteria Candidates must submit a CV and Statement of Suitability, evidencing: Experience in a complex environment with knowledge of risk management, corporate governance, and internal controls. Understanding of end-to-end commercial lifecycle management and relevant legislation. Ability to manage a demanding workload and deliver to deadlines. Strong IT skills, including Excel, and the ability to analyze and summarize complex information. Ability to develop relationships, influence decision-making, and work both independently and as part of a team. Desirable Criteria CIPS qualification / IACCM certification (or working towards).
